Open House 2010
The Victoria Hindu Temple Open House and India Festival is on July 10 (Sat) 11 am – 6 pm, and July 11 (Sun) 11 am – 4 pm. The temple is located at 1934 Cultra Avenue, Saanichton.
Everyone in Victoria is invited to this free event which can transport you to a distant colorful land – India.
As in previous years, the Victoria Hindu Temple celebrates India’s culture, cuisine, crafts, music, dance, henna, palmistry, arts and crafts during its 2-day Open House. Come to this event with your family and friends, and be prepared for visual delights (including classical and folk dances), enchanting music, and mouth-watering food. You will be greeted with a smile and a “Namaste”. Savour delicious Indian snacks like samosas, pakoras and combo dishes (for a nominal price). See cooking demos of simple-to-make dishes from India. Learn a little about Hinduism if you wish, ask questions about the Hindu traditions, culture and religion.
Visitors to the Open House this year will be treated to a wonderful show called "Wedding Rituals from India" on Saturday at 1:00pm and a music/dance show on "Festivals of India" on Sunday at 1:00pm.
